Irini’s House is situated in the village of Vafes in the historic area of Apokoronas. It offers apartments with traditional ovens, as well as a courtyard and a small pool with deck chairs and umbrellas.

The traditional mansion, dating back to 1850, has been rebuilt and refurbished in accordance to the regional architecture. Today Irini’s House offers comfortably furnished apartments with seating areas and beautiful views of a gorge, mountains and hills.

Each apartment is fully equipped. The use of wood throughout, covering floors, ceilings and stairs, and the extensive use of local stone, lends the apartments their special character. Traditional elements include a wine press and a wood-burning oven.

Irini’s House is 32 km away from Chania and 28 km from Rethymnon. There are several traditional café in the village and a tavern serving genuine Cretan cuisine.
